The Union Attorney-General Office held a meeting yesterday to explain
the assessment report on their Moving Forward the Rule of Law: Strategic
Plan 2015-2019 yesterday.

Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo first delivered an address where he said
the UAG Office and successive judicial offices aim to implement legal
protection on rule of law in this strategic plan. He said they received
assistance from the UNDP to review the strategic plan from February to
April, 2019 as it nears completion. The UAG said they interviewed
members of the Hluttaw Bill Committee, certain ministries, the Myanmar
Police Force and international affiliated organizations during the
reviewing period. He said 87% of successive judicial offices
participated in the review, making it inclusive of the majority.
He said the results of the review will be used to draft a better second strategic plan and expressed gratitude towards officials from the UNDP, international organizations and judicial officers of the UAG Office for their assistance.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Attorney-General, permanent secretary, directors-general, deputy directors-general and directors of the UAG Office, UNDP officials and invited guests from UNODC, IDLO, JICE, MyJustice, and Promoting the Rule of Law in Myanmar (PRLM).
