Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin handed over
US$40,000 donated by Myanmar families in California for flood-affected
regions in Myanmar and $300 donated by Myanmar family abroad for the
UEHRD project to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement
yesterday.
The Ministry also
received K6 million donated by San Hein Private High School from
Mahaaungmye Township, Mandalay Region, and K20 million donated by
Myanmar Highway Project and Investment Company Ltd on the same day.
Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye received the donations and gave certificates of honour in return. He spoke at the donation ceremony and first expressed gratitude on behalf of the afflicted citizens. He said they have transferred K60.69 million to the Taninthayi Region Government, K143.10 million to the Mon State Government and K160.460 million to the Kayin State Government so that they may swiftly replant the damaged monsoon crops.
