THE 25th-day meeting of
the Second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’s 13th Regular Session was held in Nay Pyi Taw
yesterday.
Firstly, the Secretary
of the Joint Bill Committee, Dr Myat Nyanna Soe, read each section of the 2019
Union Government Tax Bill.
Speaker U T Khun Myat
asked for the opinion of the Hluttaw representatives who have submitted
amendment proposals, Deputy Planning and Finance Minister U Maung Maung Win,
and the Join Bill Committee on each section of the bill. He then gathered the
deliberation of the assembly and approved the bill.
Next, Deputy Minister U
Maung Maung Win explained that beginning from the date the 2019 Union
Government Tax Bill was first submitted on 7 August 2019, the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw
and its Joint Bill Committee and Joint Public Accounts Committee, together with
relevant ministry representatives and UMFCCI officials, have gone over the
entire bill, proposed amendments, debated on the matter, and have now
resubmitted it.
The Deputy Minister
moved for the assembly to the approve the bill, with all the amendments made to
it, in line with Section 91-a of The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Rule. With the
agreement of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw assembly, the Speaker announced that the
bill has been approved.
The 26th meeting of the
current regular session will convene today.
