Over 200 prisoners released in Rakhine State

ACTING on an order from the President’s office, the authorities yesterday released 210 prisoners from prisons in Rakhine State.

Of the total prisoners, 116 inmates, including 109 men, 6 women, and one foreigner, were released from the Sittway Prison; 39 inmates, including 35 men, three women, and one foreigner, were released from the Buthidaung Prison; 31 men were freed from the Kyaukpyu Prison; and, 24 prisoners, including 23 men and one woman, were released from Thandwe Prison.

The freed inmates were welcomed by their families and relatives.
