Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr. Myo Aung and officials provided aid and support to the wind struck victims yesterday. He was accompanied by Nay Pyi Taw Council member Colonel Min Naung, Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Kyaw Min Hlaing, Head of the Nay Pyi Taw branch for Disaster Management Department U Kyaw Kyaw Tun, Ottara District Administrator U Bhome Myat Thu, Township Administrator U Nyi Nyi Aung and other officials.
They first handed over aid from the Disaster Management Department which included K 2,364,800 for rice, house construction and 11 rescue items for 46 houses that were blown down in Nan Chun village. They also handed over K 920,000 which will be divided into K 20,000 per household.
Officials handed over K 2,014,200 from the Disaster Management Department for purchasing rice, covering house construction costs and 11 rescue items for 29 houses of Ngansat village, South Zalaung village and North Salaung village. Nay Pyi Taw Council provided K580,000 which will be divided into K20,000 per household. Additionally, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman handed over K 250,000 to the abbot of Nan Chun village monastery to fix its overturned roofing.
The Nay Pyi Taw Disaster Management Department provides K 865,300 for purchasing rice, covering house construction costs and 11 rescue items for 15 houses of Mingone, Paung Laung and Aung Chantar villages, a house of Aung Chantar village of Taungnyo village-tract, and 8 houses of Shwe Nantar ward. The Nay Pyi Taw Council provided K 460,000 which will be divided into K 20,000 per household.
The strong winds have damaged 152 houses, 3 monasteries and 5 schools in Ottarathiri Township. Rescue items and monetary support will be given to the remaining villages which were affected as well.
