THE tenth-day meeting of the eleventh regular session of the
Second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was held at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw meeting hall in
Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning. At the meeting Pyidaungsu Hluttaw put on record
the expansion and reorganizing of villages; Deputy Minister for Planning and
Finance U Set Aung explained about ratifying ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade
Agreement (AHKFTA) and ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Investment Agreement (AHKIA); and
decisions on bills were made.
Expansion and reorganizing of villages
As the first agenda of the day Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U T
Khun Myat submitted to the Hluttaw the matter of expanding and reorganizing
villages in Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions sent by the President
Office and an announcement was made of Hluttaw putting the matter on record.
Ratifying AHKFTA and AHKIA
Next, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Set Aung explained
about the benefit of ratifying AHKFTA and AHKIA separately so that Hluttaw can
approve it. After explanation of each agreement, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker
announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the matter to
register their names.
Hluttaw decides on bills
Afterwards, Joint Bill Committee tabled paragraph wise motions
on Consumer Protection Bill, Literature and Arts Copyright Bill and Gambling
Bill 2018 in which the two Hluttaws were in disagreement. After the tabling of
each motion, Hluttaw representatives discussed and approved the bills. The
eleventh day meeting of the eleventh regular session of the Second Pyidaungsu
Hluttaw will be held on 28 February it is learnt.
