Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives explained about MEITI processes

PYIDAUNGSU Hluttaw and Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein attended an event explaining the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives about Myanmar Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (MEITI) held in Hluttaw Thabin Hall yesterday afternoon.

At the event, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives were introduced and explained about MEITI processes; suggestions on oil and gas, mining, pearl, gems and jade sectors included in fiscal year 2014-2015 and 2015- 2016 MEITI second and third reports.

Questions posed by Hluttaw representatives in attendance on EITI processes in Myanmar and matters covered in the EITI reports were then answered tripartite multi-stakeholder group.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environment Conservation Dr. Ye Myint Swe, Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives, tripartite multi-stakeholder group Vice Chairman, MEITI coordinator, EITI tripartite multi-stakeholder group members and invited guests.
