Myanmar Police Force confiscated guns, bullets, grenade and stimulant tablets from a
suspected drug smuggler in Kayin State in the south-east of Myanmar yesterday.
Following
a tipoff, the local anti-drug squad together with eye witnesses raided the
house of a suspected drug dealer in Naung Hta Lone Village, Hpa-an Township.
The suspect identified as Saw Nyunt Thein, 42 years of age, attacked the police
conducting an inspection in search of illicit narcotics with gun in his house
and attempted to flee the scene but later he was arrested.
The
police seized a carbine, a percussion-lock firearm, two bullets, a grenade and
72 stimulant pills from the suspect. Action has been taken against the
suspected drug trafficker by local police.
