Vice
President U Myint Swe and his wife attended performance of the Myanmar National
Symphony Orchestra at the Myanmar International Convention Center-2 (MICC-2) in
Nay Pyi Taw.
Last
night’s entertainment was a collaboration between MRTV’s national orchestra and
a band of Japanese musicians under the tutelage of Mr. Yunosuke Yamamoto as
conductor and composer.
Attending
the event were union ministers, Members of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Japanese
Ambassador Mr. Tateshi Higuchi and other officials.
Among
the songs performed by the orchestra were Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1 Les
Toreadors, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4, Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1
(excerpt), Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5 and No. 1, Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus,
Myanmar’s Will and Myanmar’s Scenery, Maha, Beauty and the Beast, Despacito and
Mahn Taung Yeik Ko.
After
the performance, the Vice President and wife conferred congratulatory wreaths to
Mr. Yunosuke Yamamoto and Japanese pianist Ms. Kyoko Koyama. Union Minister for
Information Dr. Pe Myint next conferred wreaths to the choir members and Mr.
Tateshi Higuchi conferred wreaths to MRTV’s National Orchestra. A similar event
will be held at the National Theatre on Myoma Kyaung Street in Yangon on 9
February.
