Myanmar-Japan Human Rights Dialogue held in Nay Pyi Taw

The Fifth Myanmar-Japan Human Rights Dialogue was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw, on 6 February 2018. U Myint Thu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar and Mr. Masato Otaka, Deputy Assistant Minister, Foreign Policy Bureau and Ambassador in charge of UN Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, co-chaired the dialogue.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on policies and practices for promotion and protection of human rights adopted in Myanmar and Japan, as well as for further consolidation of the existing cooperation between the two countries in international arena including UN.
Present also at the meeting were officials concerned from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Defence, Border Affairs, Labour, Immigration and Population, Health and Sports and Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on the Myanmar side, officials concerned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diplomatic Missions in Geneva and Yangon on the Japanese side.
