State
Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi met separately with Mr. Sun Guoxiang, Special
Envoy for Asian Affairs of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Rajinder
Khanna, the Deputy National Security Advisor of India, and Dr. Shamshad Akhtar,
the Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for
Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) at the Myanmar International Convention Center
-2 in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Present
at the meetings were Union Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor U
Kyaw Tint Swe and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Tin.
The
State Counsellor spoke with Mr. Sun Guoxiang about future plans for Myanmar’s
national reconciliation and peace efforts. They also discussed China’s plans
for continued support to Myanmar.
The
State Counsellor then talked with Mr. Rajinder Khanna about the bilateral
relationship between Myanmar and India and cooperation for anti-terrorism
efforts.
The
State Counsellor then spoke with Dr. Shamshad Akhtar about continued regional
development and increased cooperation between Myanmar and UNESCAP.
