Reuters journalists’ trial continues

The Yangon region’s Northern District Court cross-examined a plaintiff in a case related to two Reuters reporters who were charged under the Officials Secrets Act yesterday morning.

Daw Su Sandar, deputy district judge and the Northern District Court’s information official, told reporters that the court had cross-examined Thautkyant District Police Second Lieutenant Tin Htwe Oo. She said the court will cross-examine another plaintiff at the next hearing.

The two Reuters journalists Thet Oo Maung, or Wa Lone, and Kyaw Soe Oo have been accused under Section 3.1 (c) by Yangon Region Northern District Lieutenant Colonel Yu Naing. The trial of the two journalists began on 10 January in the Northern District Court.
