THE
value of border trade with the use of individual trading cards (ITCs) reached
Ks36.76 billion as of 2 February this fiscal year (FY), including Ks3.7 billon
in exports and Ks33 billion in imports, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The
Myawady border trade gate has reported to have seen the largest volume of
trade, which was worth more than Ks27.6 billion. According to the ministry’s
statistics, the value of exports using ITCs was Ks6.8 million, as of 2 February
this FY, while the import value was Ks27.64 billion.
The
value of trade using ITCs at the border points was: Ks2 billion at Tamu trade
camp, Ks43.4 million at Muse border gate, Ks893 million at Tachilek trade camp,
Ks70.5 million at Lwejel trade camp, Ks4 million at Chin Shwe Haw border gate,
Ks1.6 billion at Kanpiketee, Ks718 million at Kawthoung border town, K s 9 5 5
m i l l i o n a t R e e d b o r d e r t r a d e camp, Ks0.628 million at
Htantalan border trade camp, Ks25 billion at Mawtaung gate, and Ks160 million
at Kengtung border trade camp. The value of total trade value using ITCs was
Ks18.97 billion in the 2016-2017 FY. The Ministry of Commerce has permitted 292
ITCs in the 2012-2013 FY, 261 cards in the 2013-2014 FY, 317 cards in the
2014-2015 FY, 146 cards in the 2015-2016 FY, 248 cards in the 2016-2017 FY, and
151 cards this FY, as of 2 February.
From
its introduction till date, the ministry has issued some 1,415 ITCs.
