Vice Senior General Soe Win receives UNICEF Representative to Myanmar

D eputy Comm and - er-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win received the UNICEF Representative to Myanmar, Ms June Kunugi, yesterday afternoon at Bayintnaung Guest House in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the meeting, the participants discussed the status of implementing the action plan agreement signed by the Ministry of Defence and UNICEF in 2012 to prevent the recruitment of child soldiers, in cooperation with the United Nations Country Task Force on Monitoring and Reporting, and to ensure the return of 877 child soldiers to their parents and guardians under the arrangement of the office of Commander-in-Chief (Army) and the Myanmar Country Task Force on Monitoring and Reporting, with the acceptance of those who voluntarily enlisted in the Tatmadaw.
