Commander-in-Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received New Mon State Party
(NMSP) Chairman Nai Htaw Mon and Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) Chairman Kya Khun
Sar separately in Bayint Naung Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The
NSMP and LDU agreed yesterday to sign the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA).
The Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief said Mon State has a good foundation for
regional development.
“The
NMSP joining with the Government and the Tatmadaw on the peace path will bring
more opportunities for regional development. Removing suspicions and walking on
the peace path will make the country develop more. People will also be
welcoming this with much joy. The biggest desire of the Tatmadaw is stability,
peace and development of the country and the Tatmadaw is ready to cooperate”,
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said.
NMSP
(Mon) group chairman Nai Htaw Mon said his group has accepted the agreements
reached at the 8th meeting between the Delegation of Political Negotiation
(DPN) of the United Nationalities Federation Council (UNFC) and Union Peace
Commission (PC) and decided to sign the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA).
The group requested the assistance of the Government and Tatmadaw for the
smooth signing of NCA and to conduct future works.
“The
group will work for peace in the country, protect the life and property of the
people and work for the benefit of the people”, said the NMSP group chairman.
Senior
General Min Aung Hlaing also received LDU Chairman Kya Khun Sar and party in
Bayint Naung hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At
the meeting, the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief explained about increasing
regional development for Lahu ethnic nationals, matters relating to education,
health, eradicating drugs, and assistance from the Tatmadaw.
The
LDU Chairman spoke about the trust and reliance he and his group has with the
Tatmadaw.
