Upgrading of Angumaw-Maungtaw road to be completed in May

The upgrading of Angumaw-Maungtaw Road, an important thoroughfare for the development of the Maungtaw region in Rakhine State, will be completed in May, said an official from Asia World Company.

An official from Asia World Company made the statement when Deputy Minister for Construction U Kyaw Lin recently visited the project area. The Angumaw-Maungtaw road project is implemented by Asia World Company under a mechanism of the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development (UEHRD).
The road is 49 miles, 6 furlongs long. Asia World Company is upgrading the road as an 18-feet wide concrete road. Upon completion, people can travel from Sittway to Angumaw road by ferry and reach Maungtaw within a short period of time.
