New Naval vessels commissioned into service

Building its own ships which meet the standard of boats sailing in the open seas is an honour for the Tatmadaw (Navy). Also the Tatmadaw in indeed is honourable as it is the only armed forces in Southeast Asia that can build frigates at its own dockyard.
This ability must be maintained while building more powerful naval boats, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the commissioning of the naval vessels in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Tatmadaw (Navy) held in Yangon yesterday.
The Senior General wore the Navy uniform in honour of the ceremony.
The chief of staff (Navy) held the commissioning of the vessels in accord with the ceremonial process.
The Senior General and party inspected the commissioned vessels – 56-metre tank carrier landing crafts loaded with armed cars and 29-metre landing crafts.
They then inspected the offshore patrol boat Inlay. From the dais on board the boat, the Senior General took the salute of the Guard of Honour. Afterwards, he delivered a speech.
In the evening, the Senior General and party left for Ayeyawady Naval Region Command headquarters on board the Yadanabon war vessel.
The Senior General and wife formally inaugurated the exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Navy and visited the booths.
Today’s ceremony saw the commissioning of one offshore patrol boat, two tank carrier landing crafts and four landing crafts totaling seven.
In the morning, the Senior General and party inspected naval equipment produced by the Tatmadaw (Navy), naval dockyard museum, and naval ship building at the Navy Dockyard.
