Pilgrims visit Zalon Mountain after upgrading of mountain road

Pilgrims are visiting Zalon Mountain in greater numbers after the upgrading of the mountain road up to the Zalon Mountain pagoda in Bamauk township, Katha district, Sagaing region, according to a report in the Myawady Daily .


“The mountain road was opened on 12 November. Currently, the Zalon Mountain is crowded with the pilgrims this fiscal year. The tours agencies also made a trip arrangement for the pilgrims to visit Zalon Mountain,” said a trustee of Zalon Mountain pagoda.

The number of pilgrims visiting to Zalon Mountain pagoda has increased significantly when compared to the same period of last year. The pilgrims from upper part of Myanmar visited mostly to the pagoda. The Zalon Mountain pagoda will be opened for pilgrims till at the end of May 2018. The pagoda trustee expected that most of the tourists come to the region to visit the pagoda, it is learnt.
