20 suspects arrested in Maungtaw, one IEd discovered

Twenty men were arrested on suspicion of terrorist attacks in Maungtaw on 11 November.

They were found by members of security forces who were on duty carrying out security measures near Gaw Du Tha Ya (north village) and Gu Du Tha Ya in Maungtaw Township.

The arrested suspects are detained for further investigation.

Deactivated IED discovered

Meanwhile, a farmer from Mawrawadi Village, Maungtaw Township found a suspected plastic bag while harvesting rice in a field near Cheinkhali West Village on 3:30 p.m. 10 November .

Daw Oo Win, aged 46, informed the security personnel. The security personnel found a deactivated improvised explosive device made of a 5 inch diameter and 10 inch long car piston. After investigation, it is found that the deactivated IED was abandoned by fleeing terrorists.
