Union Minister receives Literature Conference committee members, UN coordinator

Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint received U Aung Soe Oo, Chairman of the Literature Conference 2017 organising committee and party at the guest room of the ministry yesterday.

Committee members announced at the meeting that the 2017 literature conference will open on 12 December. A panel discussion will be held at the Myanmar Convention Center in Yangon on 13, 14 and 15 December from 9am to 5pm, and representatives from 11 literary organisations and writers and groups will participate in the discussion. Results of the discussion will be assessed from the decision of attendees after submitting votes at the literature conference of 16 December. A book fair, art shows, puzzle contests, and literary talks will be held in front of Yangon City Hall starting at 4pm from 8 to 12 December to promote the literature conference.

The Union Minister for Information also separately received Ms. Renata Dessallien, the UN Resident Coordinator in Myanmar at the ministry yesterday at 2pm. During the meeting, matters on works implemented for development in Rakhine State and news to explain fully to all people about the development works were discussed.
