Union
Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo yesterday received H.E. Mr. Scot Marciel, US
Ambassador to Myanmar at the Union Attorney-General’s office in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed matters relating to the rule of
law, legislative and legal training programs and recent Myanmar legislation.
The pair also
talked about cooperative approaches on countering human trafficking and drug
trafficking, corruption. The Union Attorney-General clarified about the works
participated by the office of the Union Attorney-General in boosting on rule of
law and legislation sector, setting up pilot law office for improvement on the
working capacity of law offices, standard of legislation and code of ethics of
law officers.
Also present at
the meeting were Deputy Attorney-General U Win Myint, Permanent Secretary Daw
Nu Nu Yin, Director-General U Min Swe and deputy Director-General Daw Phyu Mar
Wai.
