Speaker U Win Myint receives UN Under-Secretary-General and Nepal Ambassador separately

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Win Myint received Ms. Shamshad Akhtar, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), at 11:00 am and H.E. Mr. Bhim K. Udas, Nepal Ambassador to Myanmar at 2:00 pm at the Hluttaw Building Hall, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday.

In his meeting with Ms. Shamshad Akhtar, Speaker U Win Myint discussed matters concerning cooperation between ESCAP and Myanmar parliament, successful implementation of United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, technical and Myanmar’s economic and socio-economic development.

In the Speaker’s separate meeting with Nepal Ambassador, the two officials discussed bilateral relations and democratic transition. Also present at the meetings were Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U T Khun Myat and officials from the Pyithu Hluttaw office.
