Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party leave for Japan

A Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation led by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left for a working visit to Japan yesterday morning at the invitation of Nippon Foundation Chairman Mr. Yohei Sasakawa.

The Senior General and party were seen off at Yangon International Airport by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San, Lt-Gen Myo Zaw Thein of Commander-in-Chief (Army) office, Yangon Region Commander Brig-Gen Thet Pone, senior Tatmadaw officers, Ambassador of Japan to Myanmar Mr. Tateshi Higuchi, Military Attache Col. Kei Tajika and officials.

The Senior General was accompanied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Lt-Gen San Oo, Lt-Gen Nyo Saw of Commander-in-Chief Army office and Tatmadaw officers.

During the visit, Myanmar’s the Senior General will meet with Japanese government, including Japan’s Self-Defence Forces Chief of Joint Staff and Chiefs of Staff. Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services previously visited Japan at the invitation of JSDF Chief of Staff General Shigeru Iwasaki in 2014 and this is the second visit.
