Commander-in-Chief
of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the second donation
ceremony for Thiri Mingalar Mahasasana Beikman held in Yangon at 1:00 pm
yesterday.
The ceremony to
offer donation for Thiri Mingalar Mahasasana Beikman to be constructed and with
the donation contributed by Tatmadaw families and other wellwishers in the
precinct of Abaya Laba Muni Buddha Image located on Mindhamma Hillock of Insein
Township in Yangon was held on the afternoon of 1st May.
First, Senior
General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla donated cash amounting to Ks
10 million, which was accepted by Quartermaster-General Lieutenant-General Nyo
Saw. Afterwards, Vice President U Myint Swe and wife presented Ks 34 million
followed by a donation ceremony. The grand total of donations amounted to over
Ks 929 million including the first time donations.
After the
ceremony, the Senior General and party warmly greeted the wellwishers and
observed the documentary photos for construction the Sasana Beikman.
The Beikman is a
two-storeyed building and has 186 ft in length and 72 ft in wide. It is being
constructed adjacent to Lawka Chantha Abaya Laba Muni Buddha Image located on
Mindhama Hillock in Insein Township. The building is intended for all Sanghas
to use for holding religious examinations and religious purposes.
