e-Government coordination for development of IT sector

Union Minister for Transport and Communications, U Thant Sin Maung delivered the opening speech at the e-Government Coordination Meeting held at the meeting hall of Inland Water Transport in Yangon.

In the meeting Deputy Minister U Kyaw Myo , responsible officials from the Union Minister’s office, Information and Technology and Cyber security Department and Directorate of Telecommunications met with Myanmar Computer Association and discussed the matters relating to making concerted effort for the development of Information and Communication Technology sector which is the basic requirement of successful implementation of e-Government in Myanmar.

Moreover, they discussed about using Myanmar Unicode in all government departments starting from 1st April in implementing the e-Government Program and to try to include people in this program through the government service departments.

Then, the Union Minister gave the guidance and instruction on the policy and work programs that can help in the development of IT industry postulated by Myanmar computer Association.
