More than 190,000 amphetamine tablets were seized in
a village in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State, yesterday.
A local anti-drug squad discovered the drug haul
hidden an extra wheel at the back of a Pajero Car during a search at a house
owned by Kawri Mullah in Kanyintan (Myoma) Village in the township.
Kawri Mullah managed to escape from the scene but
Mamauk Karsein, who was found in the house, was arrested on suspicion of drug
trafficking. The anti-drug squad has opened a file against the two suspects at
Maungtaw (Myoma) Police Station.
