13 civilians killed, eight missing after violent attacks in November, October 2016

Thirteen civilians were killed and eight are missing from 9 th October, 2016, to 1st February, 2017, following the violent attacks in northern Rakhine, according to the State Counsellor Office's Information Committee yesterday.

Since the violent attacks on 9th October, the combined security forces comprising the members of the Tatmadaw and Myanmar Police Force have been conducting area clearance operations in Maungtaw District.
The violent attackers killed civilians and village administrators in attempts to threaten the villagers not to cooperate with authorities and not to disclose truth behind the violent attacks in October and November last year.
