Hla Thein, Chairman of the Union Election Commission, received a delegation of
the Myanmar Independent Living Initiative led by U Nay Lin Soe yesterday
morning and Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Hong Liang yesterday afternoon at
the commission office in Nay Pyi Taw.
The
chairman and the MILI delegation discussed designation of areas for cooperation
of voters with disabilities in the upcoming by-election, organizing a forum of
the commission, civil society organisations, organisations of persons with
disabilities and political parties and preparations for the by-election.
The
chairman and the Chinese ambassador discussed the invitation of Chinese
observers during the by-elections, matters related to political parties,
assistance for the by-election and the commission’s preparations for free and
independent elections.
