At
yesterday’s Pyithu Hluttaw meeting, the responsibilities of tender winners in
agriculture projects, democratic standards, and a recent visit to the United
Kingdom by the speaker were discussed.
U
Hla Kyaw, deputy minister for agriculture, livestock breeding and irrigation,
replied to a question raised by U Htay Min Thein, Hluttaw representative of
Gyobingauk constituency about the responsibilities of those who are awarded
contracts for agriculture projects.
“Tender
winners has no rights to withdraw working situations. Only if changes need to
be done under unavoidable conditions are acquisition of approvals from the
different levels required to be taken.” At yesterday’s meeting, five Pyithu
Hluttaw Representative from the Tatmadaw group swore a solemn oath and signed
the oaths.
Afterward,
Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw made a welcoming speech.
“At
present, we are making specific efforts for the emergence of a federal
democratic Union — the destination of the Nation, thus Hluttaw Representatives
are required to exert efforts in accord with the democratic standards,
representing the legislature. As per the nature of Hluttaw, there may be
disagreements and different opinions among us, we all are required to discuss
and decide with the spirit of unity, with a view to prioritising the national
interest. Representatives should pay careful attention for deeds and speeches
which can cause misunderstandings among us not to arise.”
A
friendship visit of a Myanmar delegation led by U Win Myint, Speaker of the
Pyithu Hluttaw, to Britain from 19 January to 27 January and a study visit of a
Myanmar delegation led by U Kyi Moe Naing to Laos from 18 January to 20 January
was put on record of the Pyithu Hluttaw.
U
Hla Kyaw, deputy minister, then replied to questions raised by U Lin Lin Kyaw,
the Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Myittha Constituency, Daw Thandar of
Einme constituency, U Thein Tun of Kyaunggon, U Aung Kyaw Lwin of Sedoktara and
U Khin Maung Myint of Yaksawk.
Afterward,
a motion was decided upon to be seconded and the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw
announced to name in the second. Then the receipt of the Union Election
Commission (2nd Revision— approved UEC law with amendment) sent by Amyotha
Hluttaw was brought up to the Hluttaw.
Then,
U Kyaw Soe Lin, secretary of the Drafting Committee, submitted the report
concerning the draft, and the Speaker of the Hluttaw said those wishing to
submit revised motion should submit their names.
