Rakhine State Day observed in Maungtaw

The Rakhine State Day was observed in Maungtaw yesterday, with reading of the message on the day sent by President U Htin Kyaw. 
At the ceremony held at the Maungtaw Township General Administration Office, Chairman of the ceremony U Maung Ohn Kyi clarified the emergence of the Rakhine State Day.

Afterwards, U Hla Myint, Head of Maungtaw Township General Administration Office, read the message sent by President U Htin Kyaw.

The 42nd anniversary commemoration was held in the towns across the state.

After having been designated as Rakhine State in 1974 Constitution, the 1st Rakhine State People’s Council decided to designate December 15 as Rakhine State Day, the day on which Referendum commenced for the approval of the Constitution. Starting from 1975, it has been being celebrated, reaching the 42nd anniversary Rakhine State Day today.
