Members of the KIA, MNDAA, TNLA and AA armed groups
attacked a military convoy on Wednesday evening, killing one civilian and one
soldier.
The members of the armed group exploded three mines
on Lashio-Muse Highway near Hsan Laung Village in Hsenwi Township, northern
Shan State.
The explosion instantly killed Maung Naing Tun, 32,
of Mandalay, and a soldier.
KIA
ambushes military convoy, injures two civilians
Members of the KIA ambushed a military convoy in
Kutkai Township on Wednesday afternoon and retreated after government troops
returned fire.
Two civilians who were aboard a 22-wheeled truck
that was part of the convoy were injured in the fighting. Meanwhile, 13 out of
21 villagers from Pankun Village, Kyaukme Township who were forcibly recruited
by the TNLA armed group arrived back home on Wednesday. Another villager was
recruited by the TNLA the same day. The TNLA is still detaining nine villagers.
KIA/TNLA combined armed group attacks government
troops
A combined armed group of about 85 from the KIA and
TNLA comprising about 85 troops attacked government troops stationed near Panwa
village, 10 miles from the north of Namtu in the north eastern part of Shan
State, at about 7:45 am on December 14, from two separate places. Due to
thecross-fire of the Tatmataw troops, the armed group retreated into the east.
While pursuing them, the armed group comprising
about 160 troops attacked the government troops from three separate places from
the hills nearby Panwa at about 12:30 pm with artilleries and firearms. Due to
backup from aerial forces, the armed group dispersed into the east and west.
Similarly, at 6:20 pm or so, on 14 December, KIA,
TNLA armed groups attacked a convoy of Tatmataw vehicles bound for Lashio from
Hsenwi, performing their regular administrative duties with 2 remote-controlled
mines, killing Maung Tun Naing, the driver of a 12-wheeled truck by shrapnel
from the mine. In the incidents, some officials and some rank-and-file members
sacrificed their lives for the country, with some injured.
