Sixty more suspects detained in Maungtaw

Sixty more people suspected of involvement in the violent attacks in Maungtaw township were detained by security forces recently, according to the information committee of the State Counsellor’s Office.

In area clearance operations in Kyetyoepyin Village by the police in Ngakhuya area on November 19 evening, the suspects were taken into custody.
According to the press release, the suspects were involved in the armed attacks on security forces during the area clearance operations in Kyetyoepyin, Longton and Pyaungpite villages on 11 October.
During the attacks, five members of the security forces were killed.
