Four
improvised landmines, found in a conduit tube under the Lashio-Muse Union Highway
between Kutkai and Theinni yesterday and security forces had to defuse them,
according to the Office of Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
The
landmines were made of steel pipes, 6-inch in height and 4-inch in diameter,
attached with 7 fuses and four 12-volt batteries. Government troops, while
conducting area clearance operations, were attacked with grenades by 10 members
of the TNLA yesterday morning but they got away when government troops returned
fire.
