Myanmar joins Dialogues of South, ASEAN Market 2026 in Busan

MYANMAR participated in Dialogues of the South and ASEAN Market 2026 held in Busan, South Korea, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Dialogues of the South exhibition opened on 30 October at the ASEAN Culture House in Busan, and Daw Win Pa Pa Thu, commercial counsellor at the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul, attended the opening ceremony. The exhibition showcases contemporary artworks exploring artistic and cultural connections between ASEAN and Latin America, aiming to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among Global South countries. It will run from 30 October 2026 to 28 February 2027. The Myanmar Embassy in Seoul also displayed a Myanmar booth featuring premium Pawsan rice, jade jewellery, Myanmar handicrafts and ready-to-eat food products at ASEAN Market 2026 held from 31 October to 1 November at the ASEAN Culture House. The event also featured traditional foods, handicrafts and cultural performances from ASEAN countries, along with hands-on cultural programmes and practical cooking classes.

Myanmar’s participation in ASEAN Market 2026 was expected to introduce Myanmar products, food and traditional culture to the Korean market and consumers, to gauge interest in Myanmar products and market potential, and to create opportunities to expand trade and cultural relations between Myanmar and South Korea. The programmes were organized by the Korea Foundation and the ASEAN Culture House in Busan in cooperation with the embassies and consulates general of ASEAN member states.
