Ongoing renovation work in Falam, Chin State

 


WHILE construction work is underway in Falam Township, renovation work is being carried out on the RC three-storey building of the Deputy Director’s Office of the District Highways Department, two new housing units for the Highways Department and the three-storey office building of the Urban and Housing Development Department.

Deputy Minister for Construction Dr Thaung Naing, who is in Chin State to oversee rehabilitation work, inspected the renovation works together with Chin State Minister for Electricity, Energy, Industry and Transport U Nay Lin Aung and members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee yesterday morning.

During the inspection, the deputy minister instructed officials to repair the departmental buildings systematically so that office operations could resume and public services could be provided upon completion. He also called for the work to be expedited to ensure that the offices could resume operations as soon as possible.

Afterwards, the deputy minister inspected the renovation of the former Road Management Centre and the opening of a temporary office. He also inspected the three-storey staff housing of the Department of Urban and Housing Development and gave instructions to ensure that departmental staff and their families working in Falam could live with peace of mind. He also instructed officials to make proper use of salvaged materials, dispose of construction waste properly, clean the work areas and arrange drainage channels to improve water flow.
