THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, conducted a field inspection yesterday to review the progress of a concrete wheel-track road construction project implemented under the Village Development Project (VDP) in Pepingyi Village, Kangyidaunt Township, Ayeyawady Region, during the 2026- 2027 financial year.

Rural Development Head Daw Thinzar Nyunt and engineering staff, together with
members of the Village Development Project Committee, inspected the
construction of a 400-footlong, three-foot-wide and six-inch-thick concrete
wheel-track road in the village. She met village elders and residents and urged
them to ensure the project’s completion on schedule in compliance with
prescribed standards and specifications.
The concrete wheeltrack road is
being constructed with K15 million in VDP support funds and K3 million in
contributions from local communities, totalling K18 million. Work commenced in
the fourth week of September by local residents themselves under the technical
assistance and close supervision of department officials, and construction is
currently 70 per cent complete.
