THE Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia has warned that unethical or careless applications are causing delays in the verification process for appointment dates for PJ passport extensions. As a result, these applications may face initial postponements and could be denied or blocked in future submissions.
The embassy offers a passport extension service that can be completed in just one day for PJ passport holders, as well as those whose work permits and special passes are nearing expiration. Appointments can be arranged through WhatsApp or email.
However, some applicants have been making multiple submissions via WhatsApp and email, contacting various phone numbers, or sending voice messages. Additionally, some submissions are unrelated to passport extensions or contain false information, such as claims that work permits are expiring or that passports have been lost.
The embassy has identified these issues during the verification process. Applicants are advised to submit their appointment requests no more than three months before their work permits expire.
Furthermore, the embassy has stated that group submissions sent by email will be considered, while individual submissions will not be accepted, as of 14 September.
