Myanmar President’s spouse Daw Kyu Kyu Hla visits Van Phuc Silk Village

 

DAW KYU KYU HLA, Spouse of President U Min Aung Hlaing of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on her official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, visited Van Phuc Silk Village yesterday morning.

Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the spouse of the President of Myanmar, was warmly welcomed by Madame Ngô Phng Ly, the spouse of the Vietnamese President, and officials from Van Phuc Silk Village.

Madame Ngô Phng Ly and officials toured Daw Kyu Kyu Hla around the working process of weaving traditional Vietnamese silk wares.

Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and Madame Ngô Phng Ly observed silk wares displayed in Van Phuc Silk Village.

Van Phuc Silk Village is one of Viet Nam’s most renowned traditional silk-weaving villages. The village has a history of more than 1,000 years of traditional silk weaving and is recognized as an important cultural heritage of Viet Nam’s traditional weaving industry. Visitors can observe the various stages of silk production, from silkworm breeding and silk fabric production to thread preparation, weaving on traditional looms, dyeing and the final production of silk fabrics. They can also learn how traditional artisans have preserved and passed down their weaving skills from generation to generation and how the village has developed in connection with the tourism industry. It is also a premier cultural heritage destination where visitors can explore the history of Viet Nam’s silk industry and the preservation of traditional craftsmanship.

Madame Ngô Phng Ly hosted a traditional Vietnamese tea for Daw Kyu Kyu Hla. Afterwards, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and officials of the village exchanged commemorative gifts and posed for documentary photos. Madame Ngô Phng Ly and officials from the village saw off Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and delegation members who departed from the silk village.
