PRESIDENT of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing departed Nay Pyi Taw by special flight yesterday morning for an official visit to the Russian Federation.
At
1:25 pm local time, the President and his delegation arrived at Almaty
International Airport in Kazakhstan, where Almaty Governor Mr Darkhan
Satybaldy, the deputy minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and other
officials welcomed them.
The
President later met Governor Mr Darkhan Satybaldy at the airport VIP lounge.
They discussed Myanmar’s recent general election and the government’s efforts
towards national development and peace, as well as Myanmar’s expanding
relations with regional and international countries.
They
also discussed strengthening bilateral ties between Myanmar and Kazakhstan
through high-level visits and cooperation in trade, education, culture and
tourism.
After
the meeting, the Almaty Governor presented a commemorative gift to President U
Min Aung Hlaing, who reciprocated with gifts for the Governor and his
delegation.
The
Myanmar delegation subsequently departed Almaty International Airport for
Russia, where they were seen off by the Almaty Governor, the deputy minister
for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and other officials.
