Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe, who accompanied President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing on his official visit to the Republic of Belarus, held bilateral talks with Belarusian Foreign Minister Mr Maxim Ryzhenkov on 21 August at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk.
During the
meeting, the Belarusian Foreign Minister discussed several areas for potential
bilateral cooperation, including tractor manufacturing, optical radar
collaboration, the exchange of embassy buildings or land plots, the opening of
a Belarusian Embassy to Myanmar, facilitating airline operations following the
implementation of bilateral visa exemption agreements, and enhancing
cooperation in the tourism sector given Myanmar’s rich tourism infrastructure.
In response,
Union Minister U Tin Maung Swe suggested that the Belarusian side submit
official written proposals regarding their desired initiatives, reassuring them
that Myanmar would extend the fullest cooperation.
