Myanmar exports 21,000+ tonnes of fishery products to China in 4 months

 

MYANMAR exported over 21,000 tonnes of fishery products to China through the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) in the first four months of the 2026-2027 financial year beginning 1 April, bagging over US$47.5 million, according to the Department of Fisheries.

The bilateral agreement through the GACC protocol was signed on 15 September, 2024. At present, approved facilities include 89 fishery processing plants, 29 live storage warehouses, seven fish-meal plants, and four aquaculture farms.

Myanmar exports fresh, frozen, dried, and processed fishery products, including freshwater and saltwater fish, shrimp, and crabs, fish meal and feed. Myanmar’s fishery products are transported to Chinese cities including Guangzhou, Nanning, Yunnan, Kunming, Chongqing, Shantou, Zhanjiang, Guangdong, Shanghai, Tianjin and Nanchang) through three transport modes (sea, air and land freight), the Fisheries Department stated.

Myanmar shipped over 69,600 tonnes of fishery products to China in the 2025-2026 FY, generating a $154.54 million income.
