Free fuel provided to rescue boats supporting flood relief in Laymyethna

 

THE Ayeyawady Region government has announced that, as of 6 August, a total of 1,596 gallons of petrol and 429.5 gallons of diesel had been distributed free of charge to small watercraft, including fibre-glass boats, engaged in social rescue and relief operations during the flooding in Laymyethna Township.

Nine fuel stations in Hinthada Township are supplying rescue vehicles arriving from across the region, ensuring uninterrupted fuel access for relief operations.

Flooding in Laymyethna Township has led to the opening of 13 relief camps, where 610 households comprising 2,023 people have been temporarily relocated. In Hinthada Township, three flood relief camps have been established, accommodating 25 households with 103 people, according to reports.
