EU to Provide €10.5M in Humanitarian Aid to Myanmar

THE European Union announced 10.5 million euros in humanitarian assistance for Myanmar to support communities affected by displacement and natural disasters, including recent flash floods.

The funding will provide life-saving support, including emergency healthcare, food assistance, protection services, shelter, water and sanitation supplies. With this latest contribution, total EU humanitarian aid to Myanmar for 2026 now stands at €49.1 million.

The World Food Programme (WFP) has begun responding to flood-affected communities in Ayeyawady Region’s Laymyethna Township, distributing 20 metric tonnes of fortified biscuits to support 10,000 flood-stricken people. WFP continues to assess needs and will expand relief operations to the most vulnerable areas in other regions and states.
