DPRPW stages 19th Performing Arts, Anyeint, Drama and Magic Competition

 

The 19th Performing Arts, Anyeint, Drama and Magic Competition organized by the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare was opened at Hsinbyushin Hall of the Nay Pyi Taw Transit Centre yesterday morning, attended by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo.

Psychological Affairs and Public Relations Committee Chairman Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Zaw Hein and Director of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare Maj-Gen Ye Yint Aung cut the ribbon to launch the competition.

Speaking on the occasion, the General said that the three responsibilities of informing, educating, and entertaining are the core objectives and duties of the Public Relations and Psychological Warfare units. To successfully carry out these three primary duties, every unit member must initially possess solid foundational qualities such as innate talent, passion, and natural aptitude.

He continued that by stepping into specialized fields like literature, music, and the arts through these strong foundations, the successful implementation of the unit’s three core duties makes the public relations and psychological warfare operations, which are indispensable to the State and the Tatmadaw, much more concrete and effective.

He noted that national culture is an ancestral heritage that the ethnic nationalities of a country must value and preserve as dearly as their own lives. It is necessary to deeply realize and understand that preserving Myanmar’s fine arts, which have been possessed alongside independence since the beginning of the history of the national races, amounts to preserving, safeguarding, and protecting the national cultural heritage of the State.

The Defence Services Commander-in-Chief and party watched the performance of Tatmadaw members from the units under the control of the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare.

Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin, Union ministers and senior Tatmadaw officers.

After the ceremony, the General and party cordially greeted maestros and participating Tatmadaw members.

The competition lasts from 26 August to 1 September.
