Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, accompanied by Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn and relevant officials, met Rule of Law, Peace and Stability Committee members in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
During
the meeting, committee officials briefed the Speaker on their current work and
plans. The Speaker emphasized that strengthening the rule of law and public
security is essential for democratic governance and national development, and
called for a prompt review of relevant laws, closer coordination with
ministries and organizations, and stronger parliamentary oversight.
He
also urged efforts to promote safe cities and communities, enhance the
professionalism of law enforcement agencies, raise public legal awareness,
improve the judicial system, and strengthen anti-corruption measures.
After
the meeting, the Speaker greeted committee members and also met representatives
of the Myanmar Youth Development Association (Central) and the Ami Myay Thitsa
media, who were observing the ongoing Pyithu Hluttaw session.
