President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing made an inspection tour of PyinOoLwin yesterday morning to examine development undertakings and socioeconomic projects.
The
President inspected the progress in the construction of a new road leading to
the Central Fire Services Training School from the Mandalay-Lashio Highway.
In
giving guidance to officials, he stressed that along the road currently under
construction, proper drainage systems must be installed systematically to
ensure effective water flow. Asphalt paving and the construction of road
shoulders must be carried out systematically. Road boundaries must be clearly
defined, and shade and windbreak trees should be planted systematically at appropriate
spacing within the road reserve to maintain a green environment and preserve
the cool and pleasant climate of the area.
He
pointed out that a sports ground must be built in the compound of Zeebingyi
Basic Education High School, meeting the criteria.
The
President viewed around the road construction measures and the building of
bridges and visited the training school by car.
At
the Yadanabon Teleport building of Yadanabon New Town Project near Pyinsa
Village, the President heard reports by Union Minister for Construction U Myo
Thant on the setting the ever green area in the city, scrutiny over the
companies which halted the operation whether they wish to continue operations
in the industrial plots of the project, conducting the feasibility studies for
the 2,200 acres of the part I of the project, land allotment in the northern
part of the project area, invitation to local and foreign companies to operate
industries in the project, and by Union Minister for Transport and for Digital
Development and Communications U Mya Tun Oo on the implementation of the
cybercity project, preparations at the buildings of the project, wish of local
technology companies to hire training halls and hostels for staff, and on-going
process to discuss investment of foreign technological companies in the
project.
In
his response, the President outlined that local and foreign companies must be
systematically scrutinized to invest in the project to be able to benefit the
development of the State’s interests.
The
project must create jobs for technicians who have graduated from technological
universities and colleges in the region.
The
Union Minister for Construction presented facts about 3,000 acres of the
Yadanabon New City Project and villages located in the project area. The President
underlined that the occupation of buildings within the project area without
approval must also be inspected and addressed in accordance with the prescribed
rules and regulations. The President inspected the functions of the Incubation
Centre (IC) of Myanma Posts and Telecommunications in Yadanabon New Town.
The
President and party proceeded to the Silk Filature Factory (PyinOoLwin) of the
Cotton and Fibre Crops Branch of the Department of Agriculture. An official
reported to the President on the land utilization, cultivation of mulberry
plants, and progress of sericulture, production of cocoons, silk filature, silk
wares and value-added products.
After
hearing the reports, the President underlined that it is necessary to conduct
further sericultural works and the production process through research
activities. He stressed the need to beef production of silk filature and silk
wares to be sent to domestic and foreign markets.
He
also observed the production process of silkworms, mulberry plants, cocoons and
the filature process displayed at the factory hall.
The
President presented cash awards to the staff of the factory through the factory
in-charge.
