Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win received a delegation led by Mr Indrika Ratwatte, Acting UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, at the Ministry’s meeting room yesterday afternoon.
Both sides discussed disaster management issues, cooperation with the Ministry during the Mandalay earthquake response, the provision of humanitarian assistance, arrangements for the repatriation of displaced persons, cooperation between the AHA Centre and the Ministry, mine awareness activities, and the implementation of activities under the Letter of Agreement (LoA) signed between the Disaster Management Department and UNOCHA.
