Legal Affairs Union Minister and Union Attorney-General Dr Thida Oo received Resident Representative Mr Arnaud De Baecque from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to Myanmar along with legal coordinator Ms Samindika Dilani Elkaduwe at the diplomatic hall of the Ministry of Legal Affairs yesterday.
They discussed issues
related to raising awareness of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) by the
ICRC in Myanmar, the work being done to publish a Myanmar translation of the
Geneva Conventions, and the organization of IHL workshops and training courses on
humanitarian law.
Also present at the
meeting were the deputy minister and deputy attorney-general, and officials.
