MoC Union Minister signs condolence book at Qatari Embassy

 

ON behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn visited the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Myanmar, located on Inya Myaing Road, Shwedaunggya Ward 1, Bahan Township, Yangon, yesterday afternoon to sign the book of condolences following the demise of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the father of the current Emir of Qatar and the country’s former Emir, who passed away on 12 July 2026.

The Union minister met and exchanged greetings with the embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires ad interim and officials. Then, on behalf of the Myanmar Government, he expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy over the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani served as the Emir of Qatar from 1995 to 2013. He passed away at the age of 74.
