Kanyin Dam hydropower project to generate over 35 million units of electricity annually


THE 10.5 MW Kanyin Dam Hydropower Project, being implemented in Ingapu Township, Ayeyawady Region, is expected to generate 35.774 million units of electricity annually.

The electricity produced by the project will be sufficient to supply around 10,500 households, based on an average monthly consumption of 100 units per household.

Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw inspected the progress of the hydropower project yesterday morning, together with officials. He also inspected the completed construction of the 33/66 kV substation in Htoo Gyi and the connection to the 66 kV Myanaung-Hinthada No 1 power line. The electricity generated by the Kanyin Dam will be connected to the national grid through Ingapu Township.
